“Philip Seymour Mackenzie Adventure” is going to be released in chapters. We plan about three of them where only first one will take place in Gothia, Albion. Rest will be… someplace else :) Every chapter will be rather short but will include some events that are pretty important for the world. Or at least knowledge gained this way is pretty important. There will be a bit of extras like Outtakes, Deleted Scenes and Censored Scenes. Last two available only through the 12 Months Sadmoons Membership Account. And of course original soundtrack for every chapter (also available for donors).

Adventure of Philip Seymour Mackenzie is our new project that I have started with Max (our new coder). Point and click adventure game set in Sadmoons world with a bit of cinematic flavour. Game is going to be divided into several chapters released one after another. Freeware. Made in AGS.

Action takes place somewhere between 687 and 700 AG. The story begins in Albion, the capitol of Gothia which is probably the biggest human settlement on whole Naya. Philip Mackenzie is young, about 22 years old, student of History who is strongly influenced by his grandfather’s life achievements. His grandfather, Edward Mackenzie, was a famous Gothian explorer, one of the last of explorers as this beautiful profession slowly dies (most likely because Gothians think there is not much to discover anymore).
As you can see, second preview shows some basic elements of auditorium where Philip will learn about theory of Benjamin Barckley, not really a critically acclaimed man but rather a person considered mad. At least by Gothian scientists. His theory states that in some mystical way Darklings (inhabitants of mysterious Shadowlands; creatures of the night) collect energy of dying Gothians and use it for their own purpose. And this little event will stimulate Philip to rethink what he considers as the very nature of his world. Some truly important thoughts he will give birth to, some of them will be crucial to his soon-to-be-made choice. Pretty much as crucial as his next experience — the presentation of electric eel energy cruelty of which will eventually convince him that there might be something better in this world than Gothia and that he would like to explore the world, just like his grandfather did.

And so we can say that this is where our story begins :)

I’m in the middle of moving between flats and it’s kind of hard to work now. I decided to get back to “Clouds…” after weekend when we will finally move to the right place. Newton Street, here we come!

Btw: there is actually Albion Street in Edinburgh.

That’s a possible game menu. For the last days I was working on it (first version was different and took me a lot of time to put together and animate but in the end the one you see won) and I actually started coding the game. I was also working on buildings, gathering some materials that could inspire me :) After all, no one has seen Albion yet!

That’s one of the last things I want to show you (I wouldn’t like to spoil the game for ya!).
There might be a teaser trailer appearing in next weeks but I’m still not sure.

The Censor chara design

Triple Censor that I’m sincerely proud of :)
As you can see I have changed the paletter of colours. Weekly challange on Pixel Joint I found very inspiring and decided to experiment a bit. Change of colours didn’t affect character as much as backgrounds but it is a huge change and game gains more melancholic atmosphere, I believe.
